How Often Should I Clean My Drain Line

One of an air conditioner's functions is to remove moisture from the air. That moisture collects on the evaporator coil, drips in the condensate pan, and flows through the drain line outside your home.

Along with water, dust particles and bacteria can get into the condensate pan and drain line causing the water to build up into a thick grime. The grime makes it harder for water to flow through the drain line outside your home which can cause very serious problems that cost a lot to fix.

There are 2 keys to preventing your drain line from getting clogged. 1.) Regular maintenance. When Tri County comes to perform your regular maintenance, one of the things our experienced technicians will do is clean your drain line. 2.) Have your filter changed regularly. The type of filter you have determines how often it needs to be changed. To find out how often your filter needs to be changed, feel free to call Tri County at (941) 485-2222. Clogged filters release more dirt particles and bacteria in the condensate pan adding to the build up of grime.

If you suspect your drain line is clogged call Tri County right away! Our friendly Customer Service Representatives will schedule a time for one of our technicians to service your unit.
